The Modern Pantry

The Modern pantry’s ground floor cafe is a casual affair with white washed brick walls and striking copper pendant lights. Service begins here with breakfast perhaps with poached eggs, grilled chorizo and caramelised plantain fritters. Light cascades through large sash windows into the upstairs dining room (open for lunch and dinner) where you can sample queen of fusion cooking Anna Hansen's' east meets west food. You could begin with king scallop sashimi with truffled mustard seed dressing, wasabi tobiko and celery cress followed by panko and parmesan crusted veal escalope with asparagus, mustard sauce and salsa verde. An old summer favourite, Eton mess, could be jazzed up with Szechuan pepper meringue, summer berries and tonka beans for dessert. There is also a wine recommendation for many of the dishes on the menu.
