The Lime Tree

Situated in a leafy lane a stone’s throw from Manchester this modern British restaurant adds new meaning to the term 'home grown'. As well as a successful restaurant the proprietors also own a small holding near Macclesfield where rare breed pigs, cattle and lambs are reared and make regular appearances on their menu. This could mean a confit of pork belly accompanying a seared pigeon breast with black pudding and a game jus to start. The food is not restricted to traditional British flavours with a middle eastern themed moussaka, couscous and mint yoghurt being served with a roast loin of lamb perhaps with a side order of courgette fritters with basil oil and Parmesan. There is a wide variety of wines by the glass and bottle.
