This remotely situated restaurant was voted Scottish Restaurant of the Year in 2009 and boasts a bib gourmand in the 2010 Michelin guide. Its cosy interior houses log fires and characterful wooden beams, whitewashed walls and local art on display. The food is modern Scottish with classical European flourishes, with a real emphasis on top-notch local produce. West coast suppliers include black-faced lamb, highland and shorthorn beef from the nearby Ormsary Estate, smoked salmon from Sleepy Hollow Smokehouse in Aultbea and honey from John Campbell at Kilberry Castle. The restaurant also grows its own salad leaves and herbs, and has a purpose-built smoker in the gardens which is used to smoke mackerel, garlic and pancetta. Expect dishes like mini leg of Ormsary lamb, roasted with petit pois.
