In the daytime, light floods into this modern, sophisticated restaurant through large windows lending it a bright and cheerful air. Prodigiously talented young chef Daniel Mertl is serving some of the best modern European cuisine in the capital, full of vigorous flavour and elegant presentation. Pan fried sweetbreads and tongue with chervil roots, trompettes and mustard is an original and delicious way to start. A main of roast silver mullet with smoked aubergine purée, olives and crisp baby squid shows flair and skilfully balanced flavours. A simple sounding warm ginger cake with poached rhubarb delivers real sophistication on the plate. The outstanding wine list ensures there is something to suit everyone’s palate and pocket.
