This former 18th Century Coaching Inn is the perfect place to sample the best Sussex produce available. Provenance of ingredients leads the way with all suppliers being based within a 30 mile radius, so delicious dishes such as herb crusted rack of Hawkhurst Lamb, pan fried Rye Bay Scallops regularly feature on their menus. Not forgetting the pudding lover, as all are homemade and are headlined by the popular Chocolate Loveliness, which is a chocoholics dream. With locally pressed juices, award winning wines from nearby vineyards, and distinctive ales from regional brewers, also being featured, not forgetting homemade cakes, fresh coffee and chestnut coloured leather armchairs in which to relax, The George is a hidden gem!
