The dark oak beams and open fireplace bear witness to the origins of this old coaching inn that has become an award winning restaurant with rooms. The atmospheric dining room features rugs scattered over bare floorboards and crisp white linen-covered tables illuminated by candlelight in the evenings. The kitchen makes every effort to source local meat and game, as well as other seasonal produce. Grilled whole Cornish lemon sole, mackerel with anchovy butter, char-grilled swordfish with rocket and parmesan salad or wing of skate with caper butter are amongst the many fish dishes created with the daily fresh deliveries from the Cornish coast, which serve to make seafood the restaurant’s speciality. There is an interesting wine list from the New and Old World.
