The Forest, which has been open since 2001, is a privately owned hotel with a bar, restaurant and 12 boutique, en suite, bedrooms. The bar with its comfy sofas and separate menu is popular with the locals. The restaurant is the heart of the business providing seasonally inspired dishes. A modern British menu lists interesting combinations such as smoked haddock, curried leeks and quails’ eggs or roasted pork belly, sweet potato and Bramley apple. There is a well chosen and reasonably priced “ menu du jour “. A well-constructed wine list has been created from an eclectic choice of old and new world. Wine by glass is available as is Champagne. The Forest has an enviable reputation for its facilities for weddings, conferences and private functions.
