The Fleece Inn

The Fleece is an award-winning gastropub located in the village of Addingham, a few miles from Ilkley. The mellow Yorkshire stone exterior houses a traditional pub with flag stone floors and crackling log fires. Chris Monckman, the chef proprietor, not only sources ingredients from artisan bakers and local farms, but also forages for fresh ingredients such as wild garlic and mushrooms. Menus, which are written on blackboards, are extensive and feature an eclectic range of dishes such as home hot-smoked salmon, capers and fennel, crisp cod skin and dill crème fraiche or Penny’s sausage, bubble and squeak and caramelised onion jus. Desserts include treacle tart and sticky toffee pudding. A concise wine list has a strong French flavour with some well chosen
offerings from the New World.
