Exposed brickwork, old beams, open fires and leather settles surmounted with shelves of books for browsing creates the style of this traditional pub restaurant housed in a former stone built drover’s cottage . This family run business is committed to using local fresh and artisan produce for the traditional British food that has a strong local accent. North sea cockles with a garlic and Pernod butter or homemade black pudding, poached egg and devilled gravy are typical starters while a main like local wood pigeon pie, chunky homemade chips and buttered greens goes head to head with local lamb and mint sausages, creamy mash and real ale gravy. Real ales and a strong wine list complete the picture.
