The Cricket Inn on the edge of the Peak District offers a friendly welcome to muddy boots, dogs and little people alike. It offers hearty meals and plenty of outdoor seating while taking a certain pride in the pints it pulls. The Cricket Inn ‘Classics’ are all paired with beers and ales from the award-winning Thornbridge brewery. A pint of Lord Marples goes down a treat with the Steak and Thornbridge Ale Pot Pie. The chef clearly has a thing for pork which pops up in various guises on the menu in bar snacks, roasts, sandwiches and grills, more adventurous meat eaters may want to try Chef Marco’s Plate of Pig which offers a tasting of everything but the squeak.
