Chef proprietor, Nick Priestland, has transformed this former vicarage and bog into a charming period house with the most enchanting, landscaped gardens comprising over two acres of streams, secluded seating spots and sculptures – practically made for a romantic post-dinner stroll. Enjoy a drink in the bar, adorned with an eclectic mix of modernist paintings and antiques, before dinner is served in the intimate, candle-lit dining room with dramatic stained glass windows and gilt-framed mirrors. Here, fine traditional Welsh cuisine is given a contemporary twist. And the use of home grown or locally sourced seasonal foods such as lamb from the salt marches of Laugharne and fish fresh from Carmarthen market gives rise to dishes like pan fried lemon sole fillet with purple sprouting broccoli and watercress sauce.
