The Boat House is on the shoreline of the Forth, between the two spectacular bridges, in the Edinburgh suburb of South Queensferry. This brainchild of Suzanne and, head chef, Paul Steward is made up of a cocktail bar, a bistro and wine bar and a restaurant, each having a distinct character. Entry is through the cocktail bar at street level, with a few steps down to the bistro. Here the floor to ceiling windows and decking terrace provide stunning views of the bridges and the firth of Forth, whilst the stone walled restaurant is directly on the water’s edge. Fish and seafood are the specialties, but Paul also prides himself on the fine Angus beefsteaks. There is a well-chosen wine list with a sensible price range.
