Ivy clings to the ancient stone walls of this traditional flagstone floored Yorkshire gastropub with rooms. Polished mahogany tables, mismatched chairs and antique silver candle sticks create an individual and stylish atmosphere in the award winning restaurant. The kitchen believes in sourcing as many local seasonal ingredients as possible to produce carefully crafted, traditional British cuisine. Starters such as a salad of black pudding, smoked bacon and shallots topped with a poached egg may be followed by a char-grilled fillet of beef with a Shiraz sauce, shallots, lardons and mushrooms. Good ranges of hand pulled ales are available as well as a carefully constructed wine list of well priced wines.
