Fragrant lavender lines the path that leads up the front door of this charming Cotswold pub. Inside the exposed stone walls and beams are still present but the building has been refurbished to give it a contemporary feel in keeping with the food it serves. Juicy olives can be nibbled on while you decide what to eat. You could begin with steamed River Fowey mussels in a cider and smoked bacon sauce followed by pan fried escalope veal with spinach and wild mushrooms and sage gravy. There is also an array of puddings on offer which could include comforting steamed puddings served with custard or a seasonal crème brulee. In the summer months you can take advantage of the bucolic setting and dine in the pretty garden.
