The Bay Horse Inn is housed in a striking black and white timbered 18TH Century Coaching Inn in the Trough of Bowland, and feels very rural despite being a short drive from the M6. The charming mismatched furniture and log fires of this family run establishment provide a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Al fresco dining is an option in the back garden which leads onto the kitchen’s own herb garden. Serving simple, imaginative dishes using fresh, Lancashire ingredients and Lakeland produce, The Bay Horse Inn is popular with locals and is a good pit stop for parents visiting their children at the nearby universities. Favourites include Andrew Ireland's black pudding with carrot relish and mustard dressing, potted Morecambe Bay shrimps, Swainson Farm duckling with prunes, elderberry wine and potato purée.
