The Barn at 10 The Square

West Country food hero Sally Edwards returned to the local culinary scene in 2009 with the opening of 10 The Square. Housed within a converted barn at the back of her own home, the café has 20 indoor covers and more outside by the fish pond. You can come and sample Sally’s signature style of simple, Mediterranean inspired recipes using local ingredients any lunch time except Sunday and Monday, but she is only opening for dinner on Friday and Saturday. Owing to the diminutive kitchen space, the menu remains short with five savoury and three sweet options all comfortably under £10. Perhaps start with lentil soup with homemade bread, followed by chicken with pancetta, wine, cannellini beans and griddled polenta and finish with a warm lemon pudding and cream.
