This critically acclaimed meat-fest of a Gastro pub is in Waterloo close to the Old Vic theatre. If you appreciate good, gutsy, seasonal British food with a strong meaty bias then this is the place for you. There’s no bookings apart from Sunday lunch, so get in early or be prepared to wait in the pub side of the gastropub with a pint. The dining room is crammed full of mismatched wooden tables of six, often shared by different parties making for a lively dining experience. Tables are not the only thing to be shared here; some of the best dishes are too; think whole leg of lamb, cassoulet and rib of beef.
