The philosophy of this fish restaurant is simple; use fresh local ingredients and serve them with minimum fuss and adulteration. The result is honest food, carefully prepared, presented in a homely environment. Fishy offerings could include scallops with lemon grass, chilli and coriander or Hastings fish cakes with herb and caper crème fraiche to start or fillet of whiting with spinach and a creamy crab sauce for main with meaty alternatives available such as slow cooked pork belly with mustard mash and red wine sauce. The friendly staff are also happy to tell you about the daily specials. Comforting desserts could include steamed marmalade pudding with custard.
