The simple dining room of this well established family run restaurant features banquette booths and sports a counter display of achingly fresh fish as well as a lobster tank. Fresh fish is sourced daily from Lowestoft fish market while crab, mussel and oysters are found locally to create a menu that is constantly changing to adapt to the seasonality of seafood. Simple classic fish cookery is the kitchen’s philosophy that inspires starters such as pan fried queen scallops with bacon, half a dozen fresh native no2 oysters or crab claws in garlic butter. Lobster is the star of the show appearing in many guises including mornay, thermidor or simply served cold with a home made mayonnaise. The wine list has a strong French flavour, but also provides a good choice of New World wines.
