Named for the year in which the building was initially completed, this traditional English restaurant features full length windows that make the dining room a bright and airy lunchtime venue. In the evening, soft lighting from overhanging chandeliers transforms the space into a cosier setting emphasised by its contrasting pale wood interior and dark brown furnishings. The menu comprises comforting dishes such as Cheddar rarebit and pan fried duck with lentils, these are followed by classic British puds including treacle tart and Derbyshire parkin. A separate grill menu features a range of Mr Taylor’s local char-grill steaks. Sundays are dedicated to the ever popular family lunch, complete with a range of roasts, separate children’s menu and large group tables.
