A more relaxed and certainly cheaper alternative to eating at Nathan Outlaw’s flagship restaurant is to take a table at his Seafood and Grill, housed in the same hotel. With views over the Camel estuary and a beautiful terrace, the restaurant is open throughout the day for drinks and bar snacks, lunch and dinner. Vibrant dishes that showcase Cornwall’s fantastic produce are backed up by keen prices. Starters range from grilled mackerel fillets with herb emulsion and thyme bread to a simple chicken and bacon salad. Cornish fish stew and duck breast with braised red cabbage tempt among the mains. Finish with lemon posset pomegranate and shortbread or a selection of Cornish cheeses with homemade chutney.
