Angela Harnett MBE opened Murano in Mayfair in August 2008 and reflecting her ancestry, there’s a strong Italian influence to the cuisine. The dining room is light and airy with a stylish, decor which boasts hand painted fresco panels, traditional blown glasswork light fittings from Murano near Venice and specially commissioned sculpted chandeliers.
Indulge in the chef’s tasting menu from where better but the chef’s table with views of where the magic happens and enjoy chickpea and salt cod fricassée, Milanese risotto, bresaola and fillet of veal before a trio of desserts formaggio, gelato and noce, a warm walnut cake. The great value set menu might include tagliatelle with Lugano sausage, radicchio, hazelnut, and tomato fondue.
Murano is part of the following Editors' Picks:
"Angela Hartnett, Britain's most famous female chef explores her Italian heritage at her swanky Mayfair fine diner with refined dishes such as monkfish with creamed chicory, roasted salsify and smoked chicken velouté. Dine at the chef's table if you want to see all the kitchen action."
