As you might expect from a restaurant named after one of the top chateaux in France, Montrose offers a cracking list of French wines to accompany chef Richard Hard modern European food. There's plenty of Bordeaux and Burgundy from good years (including of course a Chateau Montrose) to keep serious oenophiles happy, but there' s also a decent choice under £30 and by the glass to satisfy more casual drinkers. So take a seat in the strikingly designed, modern dining room and tuck into Venison carpaccio served with pancetta chutney, fresh horseradish and redcurrants followed by a pan seared fillet of stone bass with warm marinated red peppers, olives and lemon cauliflower puree. Look out for the restaurant's special wine themed evenings.
