Jamie Oliver’s style has never been about blending quietly into the background. The celebrity chef’s zeal is clearly evident in this branch of his popular Italian eaterie. A large mirror ball hangs from the ceiling in one dining area and tiled walls have a vivid psychedelic pattern on them. The waiting staff are smartly attired in white shirts with grey ties and never make you feel rushed despite the lively nature of the restaurant. The menu offers unfussy dishes packed with flavours that are so typical of Jamie. If you fancy going down a fishy route there is crispy squid with garlicky mayo to start followed by fish baked “in a bag” with clams, mussels, fennel, chilli and anchovy. A refreshing Amalfi lemon curd could be your dessert.
