Jamie’s Italian in the modern St Martin’s Courtyard development in Covent Garden is the flagship central London site of this mid-priced, charming chain. The modus operandi is the same, simple, rustic Italian food and decor served up in bustling, friendly environment. No bookings are taken for tables under 6 to encourage a busy neighbourhood feel. There are a few different dining spaces, including an al fresco area, a bright and airy mail dining hall and a few more intimate corners. The menu like Jamie isn’t short on confidence – who wouldn’t try the ‘world’s best olives on ice’, or the posh chips with ‘insanely good truffle oil and parmesan’ or wild truffle risotto which is rich and creamy and is promised to be a ‘real treat’ – it is.
