This gastro pub on the edge of Ilkley is locally known as 'The Taps'. Flag stone floors, dark wood tables, wooden settles and a blazing log fire provide a traditional pub atmosphere. The kitchen adheres to the ethic of slow food: a belief in the slow and careful preparation of food using traditional methods. Bread is home-baked and the private kitchen garden and smokehouse mean home-pickled and smoked produce that turns up in dishes such as a starter of smoked mackerel with beetroot and horseradish salad or a main course of Nidderdale pheasant, rosemary roast potatoes and red cabbage. A sensibly sized wine list, with a strong European flavour, has been carefully selected.
