The George & Dragon is a medieval pub in Speldhurst and reported to be the second oldest pub in the country. This 13th Century Inn is atmospheric with traditional old oak beams and a roaring open fire. It has a relaxed vibe and the beautiful gardens are a great place to enjoy a pint of Larkin’s bitter, made just 3 miles away. Food miles are strictly counted here and all produce is sourced within a 30 mile radius, the pub’s motto is food from a farm not a factory and have direct relationships with a multitude of small scale, local producers. The menu changes twice daily where you can find delights such as seared scallops with crisp sea pursliane followed by slow roast belly of pork with caramelised apple.
