This contemporary modern British restaurant occupies a former butcher’s and green grocers (the original signage has been kept as a tribute to the building’s heritage). Inside, all traces of the former occupants have disappeared now and have been replaced by neutral tones and stripped wood floors. You may catch a glimpse of your meal being prepared in the open kitchen. Perhaps grilled chilli marinated ox heart with fried potatoes and red chard to start with roast chicken, salsify, creamed leeks and tarragon dressing to follow. You may also succumb to an alluring apple tart tatin with rum and raisin ice cream for dessert. And if you can’t wait for dinner? Etropy turns out an impressive selection of breakfast dishes.
