The interior may have a homely feel about it but an arresting menu awaits the intrepid diner at Egan’s. Located in a former police station Egan's offers an array of reasonably priced modern British dishes. Your meal could commence with pan fried veal sweetbreads served with butternut squash risotto or a smoked haddock and sweetcorn galette with a chive and haddock sauce. This could be followed by roast monkfish with fennel, mussel and tiger prawn broth or fillet of venison with braised red cabbage and Griottine cherry sauce. In the warmer months there is a cosy courtyard for al fresco dining. The wine list also presents excellent value for money.
