This romantic farmhouse retreat an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow enjoys the most beautiful highland setting, complete with forested hills and mountainous views over to Beinn an t-Sithein and the river Balvaig. The Baronial Dining Room with grand vaulted ceilings and stone fireplace provides an intimate dining experience. The menu is a Scottish take on French classics – like Gaelic fillet steak of Aberdeen Angus beef and loin of Glen Artney venison, mulled pear puree with green peppercorn sauce. The kitchen makes good use of locally sourced fresh produce; meat from Perthshire, fish from Scottish ports, free-range eggs from their own hens and herbs, vegetables and soft fruit from Creagan’s own polytunnel and garden. As befitting a Highlands retreat, the bar includes over 50 great malt whiskies to enjoy after dinner.
