Club Gascon brings the flavours and wines of South West France to Smithfield. Occupying a former Lyons Tea House the restaurant has the appearance of a classic French bistro with tables draped in crisp linen and bohemian blue velvet banquettes. Although the food has rustic roots it is delivered in a sophisticated manner. Chef Pascal Aussignac encourages the diner to dismiss the convention of having three separate courses inviting you instead to sample a number of small dishes to allow you to encounter a range of flavours (although larger servings are also available). Your experience could include white pudding delicacy with langoustine and pig trotter cake; coconut glazed black cod with white port and winkle risotto and rabbit ballotine with octopus and fennel salad and braised chorizo.
