The Belle House is a stylish modern restaurant located in an elegant period interior. Cream walls with oval mirrors are set off by honey coloured bare floor boards which, together with uncovered pale wood tables and wicker chairs, create a light and elegant place to eat and drink. There is a bar with sofas and armchairs, which would suit a pre-dinner drink whilst checking out the menu. The kitchen, whose philosophy includes the exclusive use of fresh ingredients, sourced locally when possible produces “detailed modern British cuisine with a Mediterranean influence” with dishes such as porcetta with black pudding, celeriac and apple salad or escabeche of sea bass, confit potatoes and ratatouille. A comprehensive wine list provides a well chosen selection from the New and Old world.
