Heart warming smells of fresh bread from the on-site bakery and floor to ceiling wood fired pizza oven hit you as you enter the restaurant, housed in a stunning former congregational worship house. Biblically proportioned windows and towering ceilings flood the uncluttered, white washed room with light. Offering breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner alongside its own bakery and wine shop, all tastes are catered for. There is an emphasis is on affordability and flexibility, with modest mark ups on interesting wines. Dishes are seasonal and provincial; start with chicken liver pate in a Kilner jar served with chutney, toasted sourdough followed by roast cod, lentils, purple sprouting broccoli, green sauce or go for a semolina flour pizza with authentic toppings such as chorizo, oregano, buffalo mozzarella and tomato.
