Asquiths

Asquiths is in the heart of Cornwall in more ways than one. As well as being situated in the centre of the charming medieval town of Lostwithiel, chef Graham Cuthbertson uses the best local produce on his reassuringly short menu. Duck livers from the Cornish Duck company might be served in a cream sauce with mushrooms, sage and potato gnocchi and wild Cornish venison (you’ll find plenty of game on the menu here during the season) might be served with crispy shallot, pickled red cabbage, local pancetta and potato puree. There’s local cider, ales and lager on the drinks list and the elegant dining room with its exposed stone walls and comfortable cream chairs is decorated with work by local artists and artisans.
