Many restaurants theses days have a chefs table where you can watch all the action of a professional kitchen. At the South Lodge Hotel, they've gone one better and put all the restaurant tables in the kitchen so no one has to miss out on any of the fun. The contemporary design features olive green leather stools, banquette seating and wall mounted monitors relaying action from the part of the kitchen you can't see from your seat. The food is as cutting edge as the concept, with four, seven and nine course menus bursting with inventive dishes such as potato wrapped monkfish cheek, squid ink orzo, fennel mousse, cumin cream; roast frogs legs, snails, bacon bonbon and parsley sauce and diver caught scallop served with red pepper cannelloni, crystallised olives and shellfish biscuit.
