Queen's Arms Hotel

Situated in the picturesque village of East Garston, The Queen’s Arms hotel is cosy countryside retreat, whose location and quintessential Englishness informs its menu. The 40-cover restaurant has a constantly changing repertoire that evolves with the seasons and features local produce and game, a favourite of its Scottish chef Gary Burns. Burns started as a pot washer in Glasgow, but has worked his way up, cooking in Australia at Sydney’s The Bather’s Pavilion – where he learnt the discipline and technicalities of the job. Signature dishes include venison carpaccio and pan seared sea trout with crushed truffle purple potatoes and caviar cream. An extensive wine list – taking in both old world and new world wines makes the option of overnight accommodation in the hotel’s comfortable rooms a welcoming prospect.
