There's a hint of the gentlemen's club about Corrigan's. The masculine space features artic-blue leather chairs and banquettes and a discreet hunting lodge theme picked out in details like silver wine coolers with antler handles. But celebrity chef Richard Corrigan's extensive menu is well balanced enough to appeal to both the sexes. Rustic crubeens (pig's trotter) with beetroot and horseradish appear alongside more delicate creations like Cornish crab jelly with melba toast. Although recently opened, dishes such as red wine linguine with bone marrow and pecorino have already become instant classics. With waiters dressed in pristine white jackets patrolling the room and the beautifully set tables, there's a real sense of occasion about dining here.

Five things going on in London this weekend by Ellie Neville
"If you don’t want to do anything this weekend accept drink and eat. I would suggest Sunday lunch at Corrigan’s Mayfair. £27 can buy you Bentley’s rooftop smoked salmon with capers and shallots to start followed by wild duck, game sausage roll and red cabbage coleslaw. Splash out for an extra £4 and order yourself some canapés such as two carlingford oysters or green olives, goat’s cheese and black pepper. After that if you’re still not satisfied (meaning in this case, full) then a pudding of rich chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream will not disappoint. Once you’ve consumed all this you will be able to do nothing productive but that is exactly what Sundays are about."
