Opened early 2008, this is the newest addition to the Abode group of chic town and city centre boutique hotels with fine dining restaurants. The sleek, contemporary design is the perfect counterpoint to celebrity chef Micheal Caines’s menu of classically based modern European food. A meal here won’t be short on luxury ingredients; start with a terrine of foie gras with green beans or pan-fried scallops followed by a best-end of top quality Herdwick lamb with panisse piperade and tapenade jus. A separate “grazing” menu of smaller sized dishes allows you to eat more lightly, or create your own multi-course blow out.
