Hotel du Vin & Bistro

Housed in a converted 19th century orphanage in the Mount area close to York’s historic centre, Bistro du Vin offers modern European cooking in classic Parisian bistro-style surroundings. Start with a bowl of Moules mariniere from the 'simple classics' menu or Pan fried quail breast, cauliflower puree and sauteed green grapes from the al a carte selection. Main courses range from a crowd pleasing aged Yorkshire rib eye steak with fat cut chips and Bearnaise to stuffed squid, Carmague rice and tomato fondue for the more adventurous diner. The wine list is as wide ranging and carefully chosen as you would expect given the name of the restaurant and there's is always expert help on hand to guide you through it.
