Malmaison Brasserie

Housed in a magnificent landmark listed building near the river, Malmaison brasserie offers reasonably priced, modern European cooking in a glamorously gothic red and black dining room. The seasonally changing menu might include a Moroccan influenced starter of warm shredded duck pomegranate and mint cous cous and a robust main of thyme roast pork cutlet with confit garlic and pomme puree. Grills include a notable burger and aged steaks from the famous Buccleugh estate. Look out for the Home Grown and Local set lunch and dinner menu that high lights produce from local suppliers. The list of wines and spirits (carefully compiled by Johnny Walker, the hotel group's appropriately named beverage manager) is a real delight.
