Part of a nationwide group of glamorous, eccentrically designed boutique hotels, Malmaison brasserie offers reasonably priced, modern European food in the city's trendy Albert Dock area. The seasonally changing menu might include a light starter of seared scallops with confit of baby fennel and pomegranate vinaigrette followed by a fragrant main of roast curried monkfish with confit garlic and Madeira cream. Grills include a notable burger and aged steaks from the famous Buccleugh estate. Look out for the Home Grown and Local set menu that highlights produce from local suppliers.
