With its backlit panels of abstract art, low hanging pendant lights and closely set tables, the dining room at Cayenne is as funky as its globe trotting menu. Celebrity chef Paul Rankin puts his experiences back packing around Asia to good use in dishes such as smoked duck pot stickers with Asian salad, orange and soy dipping sauce and salt ‘n’ chilli squid with Napa slaw, chilli jam and aioli; perfect grub for a casual night out with friends. But the chef’s classical French roots shows in lobster salad with truffle mayonnaise, cherry tomatoes, favas, avocado and lobster vinaigrette and a trio of foie gras served as a brûlée, seared and in ravioli form that make this a destination for serious foodies as well.
