There's stunning panoramic urban views through the floor to ceiling picture windows of this modernistic city centre restaurant. It's a fashionable spot so don't be surprised to find yourself dining among any number of local celebrities including soap stars and footballers. But there's more than just a buzzy scene on offer here. Chef Stuart Thomsom's inventive menus blend a notable northern accent with international influences. So sweetbreads are served with local Cheshire bacon and a more exotic mushroom bhaji while rabbit comes with Alsatian-style chourcroute and marrow fat peas from closer to home. Thompson flexes his culinary muscles over a five course menu that might include grey mullet with crab, black olive and courgettes.
