Darren Sherlock and Rita Rambellas’s two floor operation in a 17th century townhouse focuses on seasonal, local food. The modern British menu may include diver-caught scallops with caramelised, butternut squash and crisp pancetta or a clam chowder to surpass America’s eastern seaboard variety. Or you might find that the Orient has taken over with pickled ginger and wasabi accompanying tuna and a shoot salad. Pork belly with superlative crackling and red cabbage or chicken with puy lentils make for classic and happy culinary marriages. Finish with a tropical twist on a classic creme brûlée that sees the unusual addition of coconut, or induge in a selection of chocolate desserts.
