North Bridge Brasserie
The print media's loss is gastronomy's gain. This grand, galleried brasserie with its towering marble pillars occupies the former entrance hall of the The Scotsman newspaper. You won't feel lost in space however as the large room is divided up by coves and booths giving it an intimate feel. There's a boldly Scottish feel to chef Paul Hart's enticingly Scottish modern menu. Kick off with Roasted West Coast scallops with Olive Oil poached tomato, avocado, soya bean and lime dressing followed by a Roast Lion abnd crispy tail of Black Isle Pork, shallot puree, braised baby vegetables and an Arran honey mustard sauce. Wine lovers could get distracted by the extensive, global list, and in true Scottish style, the cellar is home to over 70 single malts including a 25 year old Longmorn Glenlivet.
