The Queen's Head

You'd hardly know this smart bar and brasserie was once a pub. Now its all polished floors, cool white tones and leather tub chairs; in short this is a place for wining and dining in the restaurant, relaxed dining in the bistro or relaxing on the covered terrace with a glass of wine and a summer salad. New owners Amanda Lockwood and Executive Chef Simon Nurse (since April 2011) offer freshly sauced local produce with mouth watering A-La-Carte, Table dHote and hearty homemade bar snacks. All of our food is made fresh on site. Sunday lunch is a relaxed affair with roast sirloin of beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and pan gravy along with other home comfort favourites. The wine list, organised by style for ease of use even with beautiful vineyard selections, choose from a light Pinot or a hearty rioja, and for real die hard wine lovers the likes of Sancerre or St Emilion. Real ale your drink of choice? We have ever changing guest real ales such as IPA, Doombar and Bombardier to name but a few. Prefer a refreshing glass of larger on a hot summer’s day? Carling, Grolsch or Peroni. Rekorderlig cider in bottles, Corona Extra with a wedge of lime and a vast array of soft drinks.
