The Longridge Restaurant

Celebrity chef Paul Heathcote has been one of the North's leading culinary lights since he opened this flagship establishment in 1990. Originally a serious fine dining restaurant, the atmosphere and prices are now a bit more relaxed. A recent refurbishment has given the dining room a sleek new interior and added the private chefs table where up to 14 people can watch their meal prepared in front of them. The al a carte menu might include the technically complex rabbit leg stuffed with sweetbreads and foie gras served with savoy cabbage, mash and sage roasting juices or the signature roast Goosnargh duck with pickled turnip and sautéed mushrooms. For a reasonably priced treat, splash out on the 7 course "Experience" menu.
