Deep grey banquettes, exposed brickwork and polished wooden floors make this intimate dining room in the smart Drakes boutique hotel perfect for dinner a deux or special celebrations. Chef Andrew Mackenzie has trained with the likes of culinary legend Nico Ladenis and his assured Modern British menus are deserving of many accolades and high praise earned. As a sample of what is in store, menus include dishes such as delicious Roast South Downs Lamb with crispy sweetbreads, broad beans dauphinoise potatoes and rosmary sauce or pan fried local Sea Trout with pea puree, saffron potatoes, Swiss chard and red wine fish stock. For a true taste of McKenzie's style, try the 5 course Chef's tasting menu that might end with a rather wonderful Raspberry Souffle or Elderflower and Spring Water Jelly with Kent berries and Chervil ic-cream Mackenzie's style. Arrive early for one of drakes famous and rather potent 'Porn Star Martini' cocktails which can be enjoyed pre dinner in the very cool sea front Bar.

| Local Directions: | From the A23 and off the London road you will arrive at the Brighton pier roundabout. from here head left into marine parade towards the marina. we are at 44 marine parade which is just on the left before the traffic lights which turn onto lower rock gardens. our forecourt is recognisable by an ornate water feature at the front of the driveway. be careful, as you will miss us easily. |
