Family run – Ryan Mitchell heads the kitchen, new owners Gail and Nicola the front of house – the food is Modern British with European undertones. The evening a la carte offers pressed terrine of Gloucester Old Spot ham and foie gras with ginger and rhubarb compote; shallot and goat’s cheese tatin; Trealy belly pork with noodle salad or deep-fried duck egg with spring vegetable salad. Shellfish lasagne, seared yellow fin tuna with chorizo and chilli or Welsh spring lamb or matured sirloin Welsh Black beef with a Bordelais sauce can precede hot chocolate fondant or lemon meringue pie.
