The Cellar
Follow the alleyway and cross a stone courtyard to find this 400 year old converted cooperage. Exposed brickwork and low beams lit by candlelight make for a romantic environment in which to enjoy chef Peter Juke’s outstanding seafood cookery. Signature dishes including shell fish bisque topped with gruyere cheese and baked in the oven and langoustine tart have been on the menu since the restaurant opened over twenty five years ago. But this isn’t a culinary museum. Fine ingredients are allowed to speak for themselves in main courses such as halibut with pine nuts, bacon and hollandaise sauce or sea bass with olives and crushed potatoes. Splash out on grand cru wines from the notable wine list.
